2018 Psac Outdoor Track and Field Championship Schedule of Events Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Edinboro women's track & field team picked up a pair of first place finishes on day two of the 2018 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Slippery Rock is hosting the event at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Gabby Schultz won her second straight title in the discus while Jasmine Fehr finished first in the 800-meter run.

Schultz came into the PSAC Championships with the 12th-best mark in Division II in the discus with a mark of 48.80m (160'1"). She posted an NCAA provisional throw of 47.88m (157'01") in extremely windy conditions. In fact, not long after the discus ended high winds and rain forced a delay, and not long after a lightning delay ensued. She bested second-place finisher Sunflower Greene of Millersville by ten feet.

She is looking to go to Nationals for the second straight year after qualifying in both the discus and shot put last year. She won the discus in 2017 and has finished second in the shot put the last two years. She will compete in the shot put on Saturday. She currently has the 19th-best mark in Division II in the shot put.

Minutes after Edinboro's Corey Wefing won his third PSAC title in the 800-meter run, Jasmine Fehr made it a clean sweep for the Fighting Scots as she captured the title in the women's race. The freshman took the lead on the backstretch and won by a comfortable margin over second place Summer Hill of California(Pa.). She finished with a time of 2:12.51, just off her season-best time of 2:12.47.
